Custom reminders, car reminders and fare alerts are scheduled on your phone, so they come even when ParkMana is closed. When one doesn’t show up, it’s usually one of these phone settings.

1. Turn on Alarms & reminders

On Android 14 and newer this permission is off for newly installed apps. Without it, Android may hold a reminder back for up to an hour while ParkMana is closed, and longer when the phone has been idle.

• In ParkMana, open Profile → My Car → Custom reminders and tap Turn on when asked, or
• open Android Settings → Apps → ParkMana → Alarms & reminders and allow it.

Then open ParkMana once, so reminders that are already waiting are set again on time.

2. Let ParkMana run in the background

Some phones stop an app completely when you swipe it away from recent apps, and its reminders are lost with it. Find your phone below. Menu names differ a little between versions.

• Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO (HyperOS, MIUI): Settings → Apps → Manage apps → ParkMana → turn on Autostart, and set Battery saver to No restrictions. This is the most common cause on these phones.
• Samsung: Settings → Apps → ParkMana → Battery → Unrestricted. Also check that ParkMana isn’t listed under Settings → Battery → Background usage limits → Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps.
• OPPO, realme and OnePlus: Settings → Apps → ParkMana → Battery usage → allow background activity and auto launch.
• vivo and iQOO: Settings → Battery → Background power consumption → ParkMana → allow, and turn on Autostart for ParkMana if your phone has it.
• HUAWEI and HONOR: Settings → Battery → App launch → ParkMana → turn off Manage automatically, then allow auto-launch and running in the background.
• Other phones: Settings → Apps → ParkMana → Battery → choose Unrestricted or Don’t optimise.

You can also lock ParkMana in your recent apps (long-press its card and tap the lock) so “Clear all” leaves it running.

3. Check that notifications are allowed

Android Settings → Apps → ParkMana → Notifications: notifications should be on, including the Custom reminders category. Do Not Disturb can also hide them.

Test it

Set a custom reminder a few minutes ahead, swipe ParkMana away and lock your phone. If it still doesn’t come, use Profile → Submit feedback and tell us your phone model.

While you’re parked, ParkMana can let you know shortly before the car park’s next price step, so you can decide whether to leave or stay. Turn them on or off in Profile → Settings → Fare increase reminders. They follow the rates ParkMana has for that car park. If they don’t arrive, the phone settings in the question above apply too.

The fare is an estimate worked out from the rates ParkMana has for that car park, your arrival time and how long you stay. Rates marked Verified rates have been checked. Estimates don’t cover public holidays or the eve of one, and operators change prices, so always check the rate board at the entrance.

Open the car park in ParkMana and use Contribute to send a photo of the rate board, or report the problem. Contributions are checked before they appear. Every 5 approved contributions earn you 1 month of ParkMana Premium.

Tap your level, zone and pillar, or point the camera at the pillar sign and ParkMana reads it for you. You can also save in one tap from the home screen widget or the Quick Settings tile. When you’re done, Walk to my car shows the way back.

Auto-detect is off until you turn it on in Profile → Settings → Auto-detect parking. It notices you’ve parked when your phone disconnects from your car’s Bluetooth, or when Android reports you went from driving to walking.

• Allow location “All the time”. Otherwise ParkMana can’t read where you parked while it’s closed, and you’ll be asked to finish saving from its notification.
• If you use Bluetooth, choose your car’s Bluetooth device in the setting.
• On Xiaomi, Samsung, OPPO, vivo and HUAWEI phones, the background settings under My reminder didn’t show apply here too.

No. It reads your location once, at the moment you park, and never continuously. That reading is used only to find the car park and isn’t used for ads. Read more in the Privacy Policy.

Your position comes from your phone or computer. ParkMana waits a few seconds for the most accurate reading, but it can only be as good as what the device reports.

• On iPhone, also check one setting: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Safari Websites. Set it to While Using the App and turn on Precise Location. With Precise Location off, iOS deliberately blurs your position by several kilometres, and no code can get around that. The Home Screen app uses this same setting.
• On computers: most desktops have no GPS, so they can only place you from Wi-Fi or your internet connection. That’s often a few hundred metres to a few kilometres off, and nothing in the app can improve it.

The streets on the map are loaded straight from Google, separately from the parking pins. When the pins show on a plain beige or dark background, your phone isn’t getting through to Google’s map, usually because of the connection.

• Turn Wi-Fi off and on again, or switch to mobile data, then reopen ParkMana. This fixes it in most cases.
• If you use a VPN, an ad blocker or Private DNS, turn it off and try again. Some of them block Google’s map.
• Still blank? Close ParkMana completely (Android Settings → Apps → ParkMana → Force stop), open it again, and check that Google Play services is up to date in the Play Store.

If the map stays blank, use Profile → Submit feedback and tell us your phone model.

No. You can search, compare prices and save your parking as a guest. Signing in adds My car, lets you keep your parking history in your account, and is needed for Premium.

Premium removes ads, lets you search far more places each day, saves your parking history automatically, and adds custom reminders. You can earn it free by contributing rates. Subscriptions are handled by Google Play: cancel any time in the Play Store under Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

Car details such as plate numbers and road tax and insurance dates, and your custom reminders, stay on your phone. They are not uploaded to ParkMana. To move your cars to a new phone, tap Export on My car, save or send the file, then tap Import on the new phone.

Yes. ParkMana is in English, Bahasa Melayu and 中文. Change it in Profile → Settings → Language.
