Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ParkMana handles information when you use the Android app, website, and hosted API.

Information we handle

Information you provide

• Account information: email address, display name, password hash, or a Google account identifier when you choose Google sign-in.
• Parking information: favourites, parking history you choose to sync, level/zone/pillar notes, and parking photos you choose to save or upload.
• Community content: ratings, reviews, corrections, reports, signboard photos, and feedback. Reviews and approved contributions can be visible to other users.

Information used while you use the app

• Location: with permission, ParkMana reads your foreground location to centre the map and find nearby parking. It does not request background location.
• Search and route data: search text, selected Google place IDs, and coordinates needed for nearby results or walking directions.
• Camera and photos: photos you take or select for a parking reminder or contribution. Pillar-text recognition runs on your Android device using Google ML Kit. A temporary camera file is deleted after processing.
• Usage and technical data: a guest identifier or account identifier, IP address when a guest identifier is unavailable, daily Google API request counts, app requests, errors, device/network information, and security logs.
• Advertising data: on the free tier, Google Mobile Ads may process device or advertising identifiers, IP address, ad interactions, diagnostics, consent choices, and approximate location depending on your settings and consent. ParkMana does not attach your foreground GPS coordinates or parking notes to an ad request.

How we use information

• Provide search, maps, parking comparisons, directions, saved parking, notifications, account sync, reviews, contributions, and support.
• Calculate daily third-party API allowances, prevent abuse, protect accounts, diagnose failures, and operate the service.
• Review community submissions, correct parking data, and award eligible contribution benefits.
• Show ads to non-Premium users after the required consent process. Premium users do not request the Parked-page banner.

ParkMana does not sell your personal information.

When information is shared

• Google: Google Maps Platform receives search text, place IDs, and coordinates needed for Places, Maps, and Routes. Google Sign-In receives authentication requests. Google Mobile Ads and its consent platform process advertising and consent data. See Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from partner services.
• Render: the API and PostgreSQL database are hosted by Render, which processes requests, stored account data, and service logs. See Render's Privacy Policy.
• Other users: your display name, rating, review, and submitted contribution content may be shown publicly. Do not upload faces, number plates, receipts, or other personal information.
• Legal and safety: information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce terms, prevent fraud, or protect users and the service.

Storage and retention

Guest parking sessions, local history, reminder photos, preferences, and authentication tokens are stored on your device. Account information and cloud features are stored on ParkMana's hosted service. Google search results and walking routes are used for the current experience and are not copied into the permanent ParkMana parking catalogue; a Google place ID may be kept to associate a user contribution with its location.

Cloud account data is kept while the account is active. Account deletion removes the account, synced history and photos, favourites, reviews, reports, contributions, and identifying details attached to feedback from the active database. Local parking records remain on the device until you remove them or clear/uninstall the app. Hosting and security logs, legally required records, or temporary backups may remain for a limited period under provider retention processes.

Your choices and controls

• Use search, parking details, price calculation, and a local active parking session as a guest.
• Allow or deny location, camera, and notification permissions in Android settings.
• Choose whether to upload local parking history and photos to your account.
• Edit or remove your review, remove favourites and cloud history, and use Ad privacy choices when Google requires that option.
• Delete your account in Profile → Settings → Account & data. See the account-deletion instructions.

Security

ParkMana uses HTTPS in production, hashes email-account passwords, validates Google ID tokens on the server, encrypts Android account tokens with Android Keystore, and limits sensitive API requests. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

ParkMana is a general-audience parking utility and is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account or submit personal information if you are below the minimum age required in your country. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information.

International processing

ParkMana and its service providers may process information in Malaysia, Singapore, the United States, and other locations where they operate, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as ParkMana changes. The effective date appears at the top. For privacy questions or data requests, open ParkMana and use Profile → Submit feedback. If you cannot access the app, use the ParkMana support page without posting passwords, access tokens, private photos, or other sensitive information.
